Rural Business Tasmania – Rural Relief Fund Grants
OverviewThis program aims to support those in Tasmania's rural and regional community impacted by adverse conditions. Its purpose is to provide small financial assistance to support farming families during times of economic hardship due to flood, fire and drought etc.
Grants of up to $2,500 are available.
All claims for assistance will be assessed on a case by case basis. Successful applicants will receive payment directly to a nominated debtor.
Eligible applicants include:
- Individuals, partnership, trust or company operating commercially who are involved in any of the eligible activities.
- Small business services in regional/rural Tasmania.
- Family enterprise that:
a) Has a right or interest in land or assets used for the purposes of primary production, small business or fisheries.
b) Contributes a significant part (greater than 51%) of their labour and capital to the enterprise.
c) Is registered with the Australian Taxation Office and have an ABN thus indicating they run a small business, farming or fishing enterprise.
d) Is still conducting this enterprise and/or intend to continue/resume in the foreseeable future.
e) Are suffering hardship at the present time.
Eligible activities include:
- Nursery and floriculture production
- Mushroom and vegetable growing
- Fruit and tree nut growing, grain
- Sheep and beef cattle farming
- Other crop growing
- Dairy cattle farming
- Poultry farming
- Deer farming
- Other livestock farming
- Services to agriculture
- Hunting and trapping
- Commercial fishing (marine, aquaculture and mariculture)
- Start-up
- Research & Development
- Marketing
- Export
